A message from the Vicar, Canon Tom Mendel, SSC


Welcome to our website. I hope very much that you will find it offers
a taste of who we are and what we do. What it can't do is offer
a taste of what we are like; or, more importantly, of what the God we worship
and the Jesus we seek to serve are really like.
For that you need to experience actual, not virtual, reality.

That reality is rooted in worship: our offering of ourselves to God
in response to his gift of himself to us. Our Christian living stems
from our encounter with God in Word and Sacrament.
The ministry of Word and Sacrament at St Mary's is, broadly speaking, within the catholic tradition of the Church of England. Services are detailed on the 'Worship' tab above.

Our church really is a Parish Church. As such it is open to residents
and visitors, to the faithful and to enquirers and you are
as welcome in person as you are here.

Palm Sunday 14 April 2019
9.45 a.m. - Parish Eucharist
6.30 p.m. - 'Crucifixus'
A meditation in words and music on the Passion of Christ.

Monday - Wednesday at 7.00 p.m.
Eucharist with Devotion and Compline

Maundy Thursday 18 April
8.00 p.m. Sung Eucharist of the Lord's Supper
then Vigil at the Altar of Repose until midnight.

Good Friday 19 April
9.00 a.m. - Childrens' Good Friday Workshop
12.00 - 1.30 p.m. - Preaching of the Passion
1.45 - 3.00 p.m. - The Good Friday Liturgy

Holy Saturday/Easter Eve - Saturday 20 April
9.00 a.m. - Matins, Litany and Ante-Communion (BCP)
4.30 p.m. - Childrens' Easter Ceremonies and First Eucharist
8.00 p.m. - Easter Ceremonies and First Eucharist

Easter Day - Sunday 21 April
9.45 a.m. - Parish Eucharist
6.30 p.m. - Sung Evensong with Solemn Benediction

The Choir will be on holiday on Sunday 28 April.
